Indian actress and social media influencer, Uorfi Javed was allegedly detained in Dubai on Wednesday while doing a photoshoot in a revealing outfit, which is not permitted in the United Arab Emirates.
She issued an official statement on Thursday, clarifying that all such reports were false.
It read:
The police had arrived to stop the shoot because of some issues at the location. There was a time till when we were allowed to shoot as it was a public place, the production team didn’t extend the timing, hence we had to leave. It had nothing to do with my clothes at all. We shot the remaining part the next day so it was all sorted.
Who is Uorfi Javed?
Uorfi Javed is a TV actress and social media influencer who is pretty much only known for her unique and often-times controversial DIY outfits.
The Indian starlet has a penchant for turning heads for all the wrong reasons. Calling her designs ‘outfits’ is quite a stretch because Uorfi Javed is often spotted wearing just duct tape, watches, plastic strips, cassette reels, and nothing else.
The 25-year-old is infamous for her eyebrow-raising ‘statement’ style.
Interestingly, she is also a fan of Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir, as one of her most modest posts was inspired by the latter’s character Haala in the hit drama serial, Mere Humsafar.
Let’s hope Hania Aamir doesn’t take fashion inspiration from Uorfi Javed any time soon.
