During a time of economic uncertainty and the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that it is bringing out the worst in some people. Yesterday, it came to light that FAST Lahore has expelled students over making and posting memes about the university online.

FAST Lahore administration issued a notice demanding an apology from students that posted ‘defamatory memes’ on Facebook. The notification also directed students to post an apology on their Facebook timelines.

The notice even threatened to report these actions under the ambit of cyberbullying and harassment under the Cyber Crime laws, whilst harassing students over ‘memes.’

Not even graduate students were spared. They were also threatened with cancellation of their degrees, with intimation to the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

  1. Keep your facts right it was private group … (The post of private group are not public just FYI) which had fastians and ex fastians…. So u can’t just call it “public defamation”

      So now can you give me the proof that the students who were accused of being guilty in this regard posted those flity content !
      If you can gimme the proof that all the listed students were guilty then i will agree from.
