After rumors that Pakistani hunk Fawad Khan would star in Disney’s ‘Ms. Marvel‘ we’ve all been waiting with bated breath for confirmation. Well, it’s now official!
The Humsafar actor himself confirmed his role in the upcoming Disney+ series. Reports of Fawad Khan being cast in the live-adaptation series based on the comic books first emerged back in June.
What sparked the rumors was when the Zindagi Gulzar Hai star’s name was listed on the IMDb page for the digital series. However, there was no confirmation from Marvel studios in this regard.
After months of speculation, we finally have some great news. In a recent interview with Indian publication Film Companion, Fawad addressed questions about whether he was a part of the Ms. Marvel series, to which he replied with;
“Yeah, I am.”
The Khubsoorat actor then shared how there’s no point being hush about it as Disney/Marvel have already put out the news.
“I can’t deny that or lie about it because they have put out the news themselves.”
While the Kapoor & Sons star did confirm his role in the Disney series, he stayed hush about any other details pertaining to his role and the series.
He only shared his experience on set, which he described as ‘wonderful’.
“It was good fun. The cast that I worked with, the people that I worked with, it was good fun, but I am sorry, I cannot say anything more than that at this point in time.”
The Ms. Marvel series had long been demanded by comic book fans. It’s one of the few series that cast a person of color as the protagonist. Pakistani-Canadian actor Iman Vellani will be essaying the role of our Pakistani-American, Muslim protagonist, Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan.
Meanwhile, Hollywood superstar Brie Larson is also joining the cast as she reprises her role as Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel.
