Reportedly, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan failed to satisfy the apex tax collection body and has extended a request in December to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to help assess the famed qawwal and singer’s money trail as the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

FBR tasked FIA to find out how much income the Zaroori Tha singer generated from concerts abroad. Interestingly, back in 2017, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s bank accounts were also seized over evasion of tax.

Recently another famed singer Atif Aslam landed on the FBR’s radar. The singer was sent a tax notice worth Rs. 58 million. The Tajdar-e-Haram singer has a month to pay the dues. If he fails to pay his tax dues the FBR will seize his bank accounts for recovery of taxes.
