‘Feminism Isn’t About Hating Men,’ clarifies Urwa Hocane

Misandry isn’t feminism!

Tichh Button producer, Urwa Hocane is clearing the air on what ‘feminism’ really is. The ‘radical F word’, is often misinterpreted. Feminism is the belief that there should be social, economic, and political equality of all sexes. Even people that shy away from the label strive to eliminate gender and sex-based prejudice.

However, conservatives often dismiss the movement by labelling it as man-hating. The correct term for man-hating is actually ‘misandry’ the counter-part of misogyny. Yet once again a Pakistani celeb has stepped forward to educate the masses.

According to Bol News, in a recent interview Urwa Hocane opened up about proudly wearing the label of a feminist. She further explained how allowing women to have a voice and independence does not take away the voices of men. Though it does put an end to the exploitation of women and other minority sexes.

“Feminism isn’t about hating men, rather recognizing that you are equal.”

The Mushk starlet said she believes that we should all acknowledge each individual’s space in the universe and learn to coexist.
