Folk Singer Shaukat Ali to Undergo Liver Transplant Surgery

The legendary singer’s worsening health prompted the army chief to intervene.

Renowned folk singer Shaukat Ali has been moved to CMH (Combined Military Hospital) Lahore for his liver transplant. According to reports, the treatment has been arranged on the directions of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

The folk singer was earlier being treated at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences, Khairpur for treatment of a liver infection. However, now, he has been admitted to CMH Lahore where he will be treated for his liver transplant.

Shaukat Ali is one of the biggest legends of folk music in Pakistan. In 1990, he received the Pride of Performance award for his services to the nation.

Shaukat Ali is struggling

As his health condition worsened during the past few months, he couldn’t continue his passion for music. Recently, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah came to his aid and arranged his medical treatments.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa took notice of his condition and advised his transfer to Lahore.

Reports suggest that Brigadier Amir bin Tahir welcomed him with flowers on his arrival. Lt. General Majeed Ahsan was also present.

Shaukat Ali’s son and singer Ameer Shaukat also thanked the Army Chief for his kind gesture.
