Gigi Hadid Leaves Twitter After Elon Musk’s Takeover

The model says it has turned into “cesspool of hate and bigotry”.

Following Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend, Amber Heard; Grey’s Anatomy writer, Shonda Rhimes, singer Toni Braxton, and horror writer Stephen King, famous model Gigi Hadid has also left Twitter.

A lot has been happening since the founder of SpaceX and Tesla took over the social media platform for $44 billion last month. First, he decided to charge $8 for verified blue tick badges, and then ordered a massive layoff of the employees without prior notice.

Twitter’s employees are made to work 84 hours a week without holidays, and Elon Musk has now launched a new strategy to charge users for messaging celebrities on the platform.

Twitter has been a mess of last week, with many famous personalities and users leaving the platform because of unnecessary charges and the indifferent behavior of the new CEO.

Elon Musk

The 27-year-old supermodel announced on her Instagram story on Friday that she has deactivated her Twitter account.

She also reposted MSNBC host Ayman Mohyeldin’s post about Shannon Raj Singh, the former human rights counsel at Twitter. The latter had tweeted that Friday was her last day because the entire human rights team at the company had been laid off.

Clearly, Gigi Hadid is done with its new rules and strategies along with Elon Musk’s brutal firing of his employees.
