Another Pakistani artist is standing up for Turkish dramas in Pakistan. Gohar Rasheed is clearly in Camp Ertugrul, asking producers to be better, not petty.

Gohar Rasheed picks a side

With everyone offering their two cents on the Turkish drama debate, Gohar Rasheed voiced what a lot of us were thinking. We just need to be better, he says.

He asked the industry to take responsibility. Pakistani showbiz is tanking due to the lack of good content, not because we allow foreign content a market in Pakistan.

Gohar did not mince any words.

Any foreign content which is being appreciated by our Pakistani audience is not a threat! It’s a competition like in any business! If you want job security, take ownership, and create better content. Stop being petty #TakeResponsibility

In order to compete, we need to do better, because where Turkish serials are available on national TV or not, people will still watch them. It’s only reasonable for the local industry to embrace Camp Ertugrul.

The Mujhay Jeenay Do actor made a very good point. When the local industry does create good content such as Humsafar, Kaneez, or Cheekh, people are glued to their TV screens.

Local producers need to get creative with their content. Gohar stressed that producers need to embrace diversity and grow from the competition.

“In the name of competition, you don’t criticize your competition, instead, bring your A-game on! Fix your attitude. That’s what I have learned from my seniors like Humayun Bhai. We must embrace diversity and not be scared of it.”
