This week, the story of Wasu Khan went viral on social media. A laborer from the Jaffarabad district of Balochistan who appeared in Shehzad Roy songs, Wasu has been living through a financially troubling time.
However, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, took notice of his situation after his appeal went viral on social media.

Apart from dealing with health problems and living out of a rented house, Wasu also reported not being able to feed his family two meals a day. In the video that went viral, Wasif [Wasu] is seen singing some of the songs that got him fame at the time.

While many people bashed Shehzad Roy for not being able to stay in touch with his old friend, some also pointed out it wasn’t his responsibility to provide Wasu financial aid.

Yesterday, a Spokesperson of the Government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani, reported that he visited Wasif Khan. Shahwani reported that the CM of Balochistan will provide Wasu with financial assistance and medical treatment.
