Cricket craze resounds in the blood of most Pakistanis. One of the first things a kid wants to be growing up, is a cricketer. Recently singer Asim Azhar opened up about his childhood cricket aspirations.
The Tum Tum singer said that if he wasn’t a singer he would be a cricketer. He flaunted his batting skills in a video on Instagram, captioned;
“Agar Mai Singer Na Hota, Tou Cricketer Hota Shayad (If I was not a singer, I would have been a cricketer maybe)”.
Later in an Instagram story, he even tagged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Looks like he’s serious about getting noticed by scouts
Apart from cricket the play-back singer also dabbles in acting, after all, he is the son of veteran actress Gul-e-Rana. Asim Azhar has been seen on-screen in Pyar Kahaani both seasons of Mere Dost Mere Yaar, Pagli, and Bahu Mali. He was last seen in the second season of Mere Dost Mere Yaar. He was cast as one of the leads opposite Hania Amir. In the first season he was cast opposite Syra Yousaf.
He is actually famed as a singer though, making an appearance on Coke Studio. He then lent his vocals to various hit songs include Tera Wo Pyar, Jo Tu Na Mila, Ghalat Fehmi, and others.
In fact, he started his singing career as a child. As a child artist, he lent his voice to two jingles but only made his acting debut after his Coke Studio appearance.
