So it’s official. Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawer are getting married this weekend.
Hamza himself confirmed the news in a lengthy Facebook post. Now we’re wondering what was that all about.
The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani made it official in a very roundabout way. Rather than narrate an ode to his partner, some people are saying that Hamza has chosen to make it more about his relationship with God.
That’s okay, (because we like what we like). But some netizens can’t help but think that Hamza chose to mock other people who marry for love. Many regular folks didn’t like this aspect of his Facebook post.
Here’s what he said:
“Some people get married for themselves because either they fall in love or because their lonely or maybe because of family or to have kids, these are also good reasons, but believe me when your sole reason is to please Allah.”

Of course, netizens had a lot to say. Facebook mostly had mixed responses, all in good humor.
There were voices of dismay as well. The ire was not about the wedding, rather the ‘God awful post‘.
