Haseeb Hassan is Making a Feature Film with Pakistan Navy

This time its a film!

Parwaaz Hai Junoon director Haseeb Hassan is set to direct another film. This will be another collaboration with the Armed Forces for the filmmaker. The movie will be an adaptation of famed novelist Umera Ahmed’s work.

The filmmaker has recently wrapped up Umera Ahmed’s Alif featuring Hamza Ali Abbasi and Sajal Aly.

According to Entertainment.pk sources, Haseeb is collaborating with the Pakistan Navy for his upcoming venture.

The director previously collaborated with Pakistan Navy for Geo’s telefilm Laal. Laal cast Bilal Abbas as a Baloch boy Behram. The film was a tribute for Pakistan Day, on March 23rd.

Much like the Pakistani Army collaborated with drama producers to create military dramas, Pakistan Navy is following suit. The Navy has previously collaborated with stars for different drama serials.

Director Haseeb Hassan has worked on many collaborations with the Armed Forces of Pakistan. From his debut film Parwaaz Hai Junoon, web series Dhoop Ki Deewar, and telefilm Laal.

More About the Film

Novelist Umera Ahmed, whose countless works have been adapted for the screen will also be penning the script for this film.

This will be the first time Umera Ahmed’s work is being adapted for the silver screen.

Meanwhile, Haseeb Hassan has appointed a Britain based director of photography (DOP). The movie’s technical team will mostly consist of foreigners.

The film will be shot in Pakistan. While some segments of the film will be shot underwater. This will be Haseeb’s third production under the banner of Hamdan Films.

The movie’s cast of the film has not yet been disclosed yet. However, EPK speculates that the film will hit theaters in April 2020.
