Let’s face it, we all know the struggle to achieve that seamless foundation look in winter. Dryness, dullness, oily patches, blotchiness, and flaking are all due to the freezing winds outside that sweep away the precious moisture from your skin.

Before Foundation
Exfoliate
Exfoliate in order to remove all that dry skin to make it look silky smooth all over again. Not just that but exfoliating is best for deep cleansing your pores. Be careful, don’t do it more than twice a week or else it would result in scars on your skin.
If you don’t wish to by one, just make it at home. Here is a recipe of the famous sugar scrub:
Simple Sugar Face Scrub
- 1 tsp organic cane sugar (or granulated sugar)
- 2 drops of water
- 1 – 2 drops orange, lemon, lavender or tea tree essential oil (optional)
How you do it:
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Using the tips of your fingers, gently rub the scrub on your face. Take care to avoid the eyes. Remove by rinsing with cool water, and pat dry with a clean towel.
Moisturize
This is the most important and essential step to achieve that perfect look. Moisturize on a regular basis especially before and after taking a shower and before you go to bed. Pick any moisturizer that suits your skin best.
Toner before foundation
Natural cotton pads soaked in toner is best for toning and wiping off flakes.

Having a foundation that is way too matte for you? A few drops of liquid highlighter with get you that luminous dewy look.

Yes! Face serum can get you that perfect glide-on-foundation you are looking for.
Sponge over Brushes
That’s right! Beauty blenders are lifesavers for the winters. Though brushes may be quick and easy to use, the bristles may micro-exfoliate your skin giving your foundation a dull and streaky finish.
A wet beauty blender is best for leaving in the moisture in the foundation and helps it blend well.
Avoid Powders
Try avoiding powder in the winters. Let the foundation look creamy and dewy. If needed use a loose setting powder with a big fluffy brush to lightly dust over your face.
