Shoaib Malik is a brilliant all-rounder who is a Jack of all trades, master of none; no one fits the bill as perfectly as he does. A career spanning almost two decades began in the form of an off-spinner and would most likely culminate, whenever it does as one of the most dependable batsmen in the shorter versions of the game that Pakistan has ever had.

The 17-year-old Shoaib Malik debuted against West Indies in October 1999. His bowling style was a mirror motion picture of Saqlain Mushtaq and he scalped 2 wickets in his first game. He was the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team from 2007 to 2009. He became the first male cricketer to play 100 T20Is.

On 12 April 2010, Shoaib Malik tied the knot with Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza in a traditional Hyderabadi Muslim wedding ceremony in India. Their Walima ceremony was held in Sialkot, Pakistan. Their wedding received media and online attention across the world. The couple announced their first child, Izhaan Malik, on 30 October 2018.
