Atif Aslam is back into the world of acting after his blockbuster debut on the silver screen with Bol in 2011. A few months backs the Rafta Rafta singer announced his first-ever drama Sang-e-Mah to his fans.
Atif Aslam is Pakistan’s famous playback singer, songwriter, and composer. He began to rule the hearts of the public with his super hit songs from 2003. The Tu Jaane Na singer has a great fan following not just in Pakistan but across the globe. Now fans are eager for his new acting project.
The Wohe Khuda singer is making his TV debut in the drama Sang-e-Mah directed by Saife Hassan. Sang-e-Mah is the sequel to the drama serial Sang-e-Mar Mar which was aired in 2016. Director Saife Hassan revealed the details about his drama in IPPA awards 2021. During the interview he stated,
“Sang-e-Mah is very unique serial. This kind of script has not been released in Pakistan to date. It is an issue-based drama. The story is about the Pakhtoon family and their inappropriate traditions which are still practiced”.
When he was asked why they choose Atif Aslam as the main cast, he explained that
“Casting Atif Aslam was Momina’s choice. Usually, Momina decides the cast and characters.”
He also revealed that the story of Sang-e-Mah is totally different from Sang-e-Mar Mar. But the cast will be the same which includes Kubra Khan, Nouman Ijaz, Sania Saeed, and many more.
He added,
“The drama will start airing soon. Hopefully in January”.
