Sometimes people can take the religious high horse too far. So when a hijabi bride played ‘Asma-ul-Husna’ at her wedding instead of wedding songs, it backfired royally.
Love it or hate it, there’s no denying wedding flex is a thing. Everyone is trying to upstage one another with their wedding festivities. Whether it’s via a display of wealth or a viral gimmick.
Recently, a wedding video went viral for all the wrong reasons. In the video, a hijabi bride is seen walking in with Asma-ul-Husna being played in the background for her wedding entry. Of all the wedding anthems she could have picked she went with a religious citation.
What was supposed to be a fairytale moment was marred by controversy. Wearing a bespoke bridal gown by Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY), the bride is seen walking down the aisle in a cap and hijab.
The reactions ranged from infuriation to plain trolling.
Some even trolled the hijabi bride for playing the religion card when contrary to religious directives she’s throwing a lavish wedding and donning a glamorous dress.
People were mad enough to call for action against the bride.
The public’s religious sentiments have been hurt.
