Hira Mani: ‘Pakistani Women Can’t Do Anything On Their Own’

The actress made a comment about women doing everything on their own in the US unlike Pakistani women who need maids

Hira Mani has recently shared a video on her Instagram which has left netizens confused. The actress made a comment about women doing everything on their own in the US but it was low key ignorant of her to say that Pakistani women need helpers/maids to do household chores.

The Do Bol star is currently in the US with her family. She is enjoying her vacations and also posts videos and photos on her Instagram. Hira shared a new video in which she could be seen at the gas station, filling up her fuel.

In the video, she said that women in the US do everything on their own. We, on the other hand, live in a ‘privileged’ country where we can just call our house helpers to do household chores for us. We are also ‘privileged’ that petrol pumps here have designated workers to fill up fuel in our cars. Not only that, she captioned it,

Apna khana khud garam kero. [Heat up your own food]”

It is very ignorant of her to say that Pakistani women can’t do their work on their own. In fact, the ‘privilege’ of keeping household helpers is not very common in lower or middle-class families. It is the ‘elites’ and ‘celebrities’ like Hira Mani herself who assume that all Pakistani women are unable to perform household chores. What about our mothers and grandmas then?

People are not happy with her comments and here’s what they said.
