While Meera Jee has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades, it seems like the audience as well as her peers haven’t been good to her. Recently, a video of her interview with Iffat Omar went viral. Can you guess why?
Meera made her debut in 1995. 4 years later, she became a household name after her performance as a lead actress in Khilona. The 43-year-old has worked in some extremely famous movies like Nazar, Parey Hut Love, and most recently, Baaji.
In 2012, Meera won the Pride of Performance Award from the Government of Pakistan. But it seems like somewhere along the line she lost her charm.
People have been bullying the Hotal actress for quite some time now. But while their bullying remains on the internet, behind the computer screens, Iffat took it a little too further.
On Say It All With Iffat Omar, when Meera tried to put in her two cents on how the actors in the subcontinent have a ‘shelf life’, the Mohabbat Aag Si actress kept interrupting her.
The Baaji actress was spreading awareness on ageism and sexism, but Iffat constantly kept cutting in, and honestly, it was nothing but annoying.
Let’s take a look:
.@OmarIffat is 48 but still doesn't know how to treat a guest. If you're asking a question, wait to hear the answer – don't interrupt.
Extremely unprofessional and bullying attitude towards Meera. 🤷🏽♂️

Netizens couldn’t help but notice the disrespect and the bullying tone that Iffat had during the interview. Let’s take a look at what everyone is saying:
Ya Allah. I can't bear more clips from this show anymore.

Irony.

How come they're even hosts when they can't treat someone with compassion 🤦🏻♀️

This was legit bullying! And this was much needed calling!!!

That was so rude you call a guest and then argue with them. Meera was making a sensible point

Meera actually handled that pretty well

No matter how bad Meera Jee’s grammar is, this is never okay. Having a friendly demeanor and a little bit of ‘conversational’ skills are the basic requirements of an interviewer. We hope that Iffat Omar stops acting like the ’48-year-old’ who gives credence to that oft-repeated cliche about women hating other women.
We’re not alone when we say, its time to wake up Iffi, it’s 2020! Take your condescending tone back to the 1990s.
