Indian Man Dies of Heart Attack While Watching ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’

It follows a similar incident in 2010.

James Cameron’s science fiction movie, Avatar 2, was finally released last week after a 13-year-long wait. However, it was not a joyous occasion for some in India as a man died while watching it in a cinema over the weekend.

As per the details, Lakshmireddy Srinu had gone to see the movie with his younger brother In Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh. He had a heart attack while watching it, according to a report by India Today.

His younger brother then rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead.

In a similar incident, years ago another man passed away from excitement while watching Avatar in 2010. He was reported to have had a history of hypertension. Later on, the doctors who examined him stated that he had passed away as a result of “over-excitement from watching the movie”.

About the Movie

Avatar: The Way of Water is a 2022 American epic science fiction movie, and is a sequel to Avatar (2009).

Its plot is that more than a decade after the Na’vi stopped humans from invading Pandora, Jake Sully becomes chief of the Omaticaya clan and raises a family with Neytiri, that consists of their children Tuk, Neteyam, Lo’ak, and Kiri, along with a human boy named Spider. Spider is Colonel Miles Quaritch’s son and was born on Pandora but was too young to be brought to Earth in cryostasis.

Jake starts a covert operation to disrupt the RDA supply lines. In a counter-insurgency operation against him, Quaritch and his recombinants kidnap his children. Most of them are freed when Jake and Neytiri arrive but Spider is captured by Quaritch, who recognizes him as his son and tries to convince him to go against the Na’vis.
