After banning Pakistani artists from working in India, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) is now after them even in foreign countries.

The federation has asked Indian promoters to cancel Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s concerts in the United States and Canada, scheduled for October.

The Pakistani classic singer is on the international spree and has so far performed in the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and many European cities. His next stop is the US and Canada next month.

But, the FWICE is adamant about putting his concerts in jeopardy. They have issued a notice asking Indian promoters Karl Kalra and Nirmal Dhaliwal to cancel his musical shows.

“We have already given our directive that no Indian artist/singer/dancer/anchor/performer and last but not least, the promoter would work with [Pakistani] nationals and [Pakistani] artists in view of the current alarming situation between the two countries.”

“It is, therefore, our humble request to both of you to immediately cancel the above shows to maintain the dignity and honor of your country. You are. India, for which you should be proud,” the notice added.

The notice has warned these promoters that they will face a complete boycott from Indian artists if they ignore their directives.
