King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is being targeted by Indian extremists on social media. Ahead of the release of his movie Pathan, #BoycottShahRukhKhan started trending on Twitter. Netizens across the border are of the view that he has hurt the sentiments of Indians and their religious groups by showing support for Pakistan ‘over and over again.’

A few days ago, #BoycottShahRukhKhan started trending in India, and by default in Pakistan too. Turns out, there’s not one but several reasons why King Khan is getting banned in India.

It seems that an old photo of Shah Rukh Khan with Pakistani PM Imran Khan went viral on Indian social media platforms, which started it all. Moreover, images, news clips, and quotes from the past also resurfaced on the web wherein Khan was seen either backing up Pakistani cricket players or speaking of intolerance in India.

His upcoming movie, Pathan, has also stirred up controversies as many Indians believe that Pathans shouldn’t be praised in their country. SRK will play the role of a RAW agent named Feroze Pathan in the Siddharth Anand directorial. He will be joined by Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and Salman Khan will also make a cameo appearance.
