Are we looking at another evil step-mother in Junaid Khan and Iqra Aziz’s ‘Kasak‘? Or will we finally see a progressive portrayal of a blended family? The teasers seem to offer more depth, but it’s too soon to say for sure.
With her stellar performance in drama serials like Tabeer and Ranjha Ranjha Kardi, people wanted something better from Iqra Aziz. Her role in ARY Digital’s Jhooti wasn’t well received by audiences.

Kasak showcases Iqra Aziz as a woman who isn’t about to submit to a rich guy’s (Junaid Khan) wealth and marry him. We see her play a vivacious character who seems to be firmly set with her goals.
However, her family is intent on tying her into an arranged marriage with a wealthy businessman. Junaid’s character seems to be the strong yet silent type, just like his character in Ishq Tamasha.
Based on the teaser trailer, he seems to have taken a liking to Iqra Aziz
Despite asking Junaid to help her get out of this marriage, he is impressed with Iqra’s bravery and honesty.
Yet, this is no hate-turned-into-love story. Junaid Khan too marries Iqra Aziz on the insistence of his father.
Turns out he has a son, and Iqra Aziz is only made aware of being a stepmother on her wedding day.
Will Iqra Aziz accept her role as the bonus mom, or will she be the wicked stepmother we read about in fairy tales?
We’ve had some incredible stepmothers onscreen in drama serials like Qadorat and Tanhai. But we have also seen some gold digger stepmoms in dramas like Ishq Zahey Naseeb and De Ijazat Jo Tu.
