Considering how popular Dirilis Ertugrul has become over the past few weeks, it is not surprising to hear that the Pakistani entertainment industry plans on capitalizing on its success.
Will there be a remake of Dirilis Ertugrul in Pakistan? The question has crossed our minds as the rumors started floating around about Humayun Saeed working on a Pakistani version of Dirilis Ertugrul. It wasn’t a surprising thought by any means. However, there were mixed reactions from fans upon hearing that there may be a remake of their favorite TV series.
After hearing these rumors for the past few days, it was only a matter of time before Humayun Saeed confirmed whether a remake of Ertugrul was actually planned. Well wonder no longer, because here’s what Humayun said,
No, we are not making a remake of Ertugrul.
Although there seem to be no plans to make someone of that scale in the near future, Humayun did mention that he watched the drama approximately two years ago himself. He had an idea of making a historical drama himself.
As soon as he saw that Ertugrul has become an instant hit, he became more sure that someone needs to work on a drama with a similar genre.
Humayun Saeed said that right now, Khalil ur Rehman Qamar has been tasked to write the script of the drama he plans on producing alongside ARY’s Salman Iqbal. Since the project is at its initial stages, nothing is really set in stone right now.
Having said this, Humayun Saeed says that he really wants to produce a drama that might be one of the largest ever that the Pakistani showbiz industry has ever done.
