Is Meenu From ‘Chupke Chupke’ Based On a Real Person?

Scriptwriter, Saima Akram Chaudhry revealed that Meenu’s character is indeed based on a real-life person.

While people might have mixed feelings about Chupke Chupke, we can’t help but love Meenu. Well because ‘larki bari cool hai‘.

So how did the writer pen a character like that? Well, the scriptwriter, Saima Akram Chaudhry revealed, there’s a real-life person the character is based on.

Saima Akram is known for penning the scripts of drama serials like Suno Chanda, Chupke Chupke, and Ishq Jalebi.

In her interview with Something Haute, the writer revealed a lot of details about the Ramzan drama. Of course, they had to delve deeper into quite possibly the serial’s most loved character, Meenu. Played by Ayeza Khan we’re loving this grown woman’s childlike charisma and confidence.

That’s when Saima revealed the muse for Meenu in Chupke Chupke is Misbah Nausheen. This writer just so happens to be best friends with fellow drama writer Misbah. She said that

“Misbah is a real-life Meenu. She wasn’t interested in studies at all and always wanted to get married, … the way Meenu dances and throws banters is exactly like Misbah Nausheen.”

Meenu’s punch line ‘Ashkay Bai Ashkay‘ is also inspired by Misbah.
