Meet the Man Behind Danish from ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’

He is a real person!

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s Mere Paas Tum Ho had everyone falling in love with the protagonist Danish. His story of love and loss is someone else’s real-life ordeal – Rasikh Ismail.

Mere Paas Tum Ho cast Humayun Saeed as a government officer with a decent income whose world centers around his wife Mehwish. Mehwish, played by Ayeza Khan, on the other hand, wants the finer things in life.

Things quickly come to a head, as we see Mehwish down a path of infidelity, moving on to the man she has an extramarital relationship with, her boss Shahwar.

Now restauranteur Rasikh Ismail claims that the character of Danish in Mere Paas Tum Ho is based on his life. It’s that dialogue in the end that gave it away.

“Jee woh mai hee hoon jis ney 2 takay ki larki kay liyae 50 million+choray hain.”

Rasikh says he has lived through the heartbreak Danish essayed onscreen. He currently lives in Karachi. Rasikh Ismail is a friend of the showbiz fraternity. He’s close with Sonya Hussyn, Zhalay Sarhadi, Khalid Malik and Hina Dilpazeer.

That explains how word of his tale made its way to Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. We can’t confirm the details of the infidelity for finer things in life part though.

He is also the Executive Director of MCR, the largest food group in Pakistan.

All we know for sure is that he’s suffered heartbreak like Danish.

Rasikh Ismail is no stranger to headlines and he’s dubbed the ‘King of Hospitality’ in Pakistani newspapers. Ismail has been associated with the industry for almost 28 years.
