Is This Osman Khalid Butt Scene From “Ehd-e-Wafa” Copied from Peaky Blinders?

He killed a horse. And people have opinions.

Ehd-e-Wafa

Osman Khalid Butt was everyone’s favorite person on social media, until he killed a horse. Before you go Gasp! he actually did it in a TV drama. Recently his character ‘Shahzain’ in Ehd-e-Wafa killed a horse, just for the sake of it.

The audience didn’t take well to ‘whatever that scene was‘. They’re calling it a Peaky Blinders rip-off. Now Osman Khalid Butt is being trolled over it:

Not even Ehd-e-Wafa fans were spared.

The Peaky Blinders fandom is not just outraged by the identical scene. They’re also irked by the comparison between the period drama and the Pakistani teen drama.

Are The Two Scenes Really Comparable?

Meanwhile, some people defended Ehd-e-Wafa and the stark contrast in how both scenes were received. Is that even a fair comparison?

The reason these two scenes though identical have no comparison is the sentiment they evoke. Based on how the writer wrote the scene into the script, While Shahzain (Ehd-e-Wafa) was just spiteful, Tommy (Peaky Blinders) did the same just to put his ‘mad horse’ out of its misery. He even cried for the horse.

Before animal rights were a thing, sick animals were just put down as no one wanted to take care of a ‘broken animal’.

The scene was just a rip-off. It actually erodes the emotional moment of the Peaky Blinders scene.

So basically this reaction from the Peaky Blinders fandom is not uncalled for.

So yes the not-so-subtle jabs will keep on coming.
