As Rohail Hyatt stepped down from the Coke Studio platform, we all want to know who’s taking up the mantle. Rumor has it Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, popularly known as Xulfi, is next in line to curate the cola’s music show.

The Express Tribune later confirmed that the musician is to be selected to ascend the role.

“Every year, there’s this news. So, there’s a probability of doing Coke Studio every year. No one knows and let’s see what the future holds.”

However, there are posts on social media stating the former Call guitarist announced he will be the show’s curator for the upcoming series.

He has previously worked as a mentor and producer at Nescafe Basement. Given the success of this music show under the banner of an MNC, Xulfi seems like a smart choice to bring back Coke Studio’s popularity.

The show has been in a bit of a tight jam these past few seasons. Especially with several songs in the last season being flagged for copyrights.

Rumor or not, fans of Coke Studio and the Hum Zalmi creator are ecstatic!
