JFK Rescue and Shelter Organizes 4-Legged Fashion Show

While the COVID-19 situation is putting a damper on things, a four-legged fashion show lightened the mood.

Over the weekend, the animal rescue initiative, Justice for Kiki (JFK) Animal Rescue and Shelter organized an animal fashion show in Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Phase 4, Lahore.

Rushk’s recently launched a franchise in Lahore and this emerged as an opportunity for the fashion show. With a unique twist though. Rather than using human models, the brand chose rescued animals for their fashion show and ramp walks.

The designers made special outfits and accessories for the dogs.

What looked like a doggy pageant was actually one of JFK Rescue and Shelter’s initiatives to raise awareness about their work and humane treatment of animals.

Hundreds of people gathered to meet the rescues and showered them with love. There were animals that were up for adoption as well where families could meet them and adopt.

Part of Rushk’s proceeds will towards supporting the shelter and its projects.

About JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter

JFK Animal Rescue and Shelter is a registered nonprofit organization based in Lahore. So how is Kiki? Kiki is the name of a beloved pet of the founder of JFK rescue and shelter.

A good Samaritan named Zufishan Anushay is the founder of this animal shelter and Kiki was her dog. Kiki had been rescued from the streets but was shot dead by a culling squad in 2020. Since then, Zufishan has made it her lifelong mission to provide medical help, and rehabilitation, shelter, and adoption services for stray animals.

Her organization is also involved in the neutering, spaying, and vaccination of stray animals in order to clamp down on the stray dog population and problem.

JFK rescue and shelter even has special facilities for disabled animals. It also makes efforts for awareness about the humane treatment of all animals.

The body operates under Section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017, in the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. It’s also registered with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC).

It’s also one of the very few animal care organizations in Pakistan that has a free clinic and 24/7 ambulance service. The clinic has trained staff and also conducts free medical camps.
