‘Kana Yaari’ Singer Wahab Bugti Distributes His Relief Aid Among Flood Affectees

The Coke Studio sensation wons the hearts with his selfless act

The popular Baloch folk singer Wahab Ali Bugti, who rose to national success for his song Kana Yaari in Coke Studio 14, was also one of the badly affected victims of this year’s horrifying flash floods in Pakistan. After multiple highlights that came from netizens, he received flood relief aid of Rs. 2 lakh to rebuild his mud house. However, the kind-hearted star decided to distribute even this small amount among the flood affectees of his area and local artistes.

He remarked that Balochistan is full of local talent and asserted that he will try to help local impoverished artistes.

The Coke Studio singer’s dire conditions went viral on the internet after the floods hit Balochistan this monsoon. Like many others in the province, Bugti and his family were left stranded after his home was submerged. For a couple of days, no one took action but when netizens start calling Coke Studio out for not stepping up to help its stars, its producer, Xulfi, shared a statement detailing that he was doing everything he could.

A month later, Bugti received a meager amount of Rs. 2 lakh from the Government of Balochistan to help him build up his home in Dera Murad Jamali but he refused to fulfill his own needs and decided to distribute his allotted aid among the other affectees in his area.

Wahab Ali Bugti is a famous folksinger from Nasirabad, Balochistan, and studied at a government high school in Dera Murad Jamali. After completing his education at the University of Balochistan, he pursued a career as a professional singer and garnered nationwide fame after featuring on the Coke Studio Season 14 song Kana Yaari alongside Kaifi Khalil and Eva B.
