KFC Will Change Its Famous Slogan Due to Coronavirus

No more finger-lickin’ good?

One of the biggest fast-food franchises in the world, KFC has announced to change its popular slogan “Finger-Lickin’ Good” after 64 years.

The decision for change came due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. According to the officials at KFC, the iconic slogan had to be altered as it “doesn’t quite fit” with the COVID-19’s hygiene message.

We all know and love Colonel Sanders’ iconic Kentucky Fried Chicken made with seven spices. The fast-food franchise renowned all over the globe and is indeed “Finger-Lickin’ Good”. Which is why the decision to change the popular US fried chicken’s famous slogan came as a surprise for everyone.

Starting today, the popular franchise has decided to pixelate or blur out their advertising posters and packages that have slogan, in the US and UK initially.

“We find ourselves in a unique situation – having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment,” said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, global chief marketing officer at KFC.

Instead of “It’s Finger-Lickin’ Good”, the adverts now simply say: “It’s Good” (pretty underwhelming).

You know that the coronavirus is serious when it even scares KFC to reconsider its popular slogan. But we doubt, it will stop people from… well… licking their fingers after a bucket of fried chicken.
