Acclaimed writer, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, is set to make his directorial debut with Kaaf Kangana. Of course, he penned down the script himself.
Much like his other scripts, Kaaf Kangana is a love fable.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is the name behind successful film and television scripts like Dil Lagi, Sadqay Tumhare, Pyarey Afzal, and Punjab Nahi Jaungi. We expect no less from Kaaf Kangana, a cross-border romantic saga.

His direction profile has previously only included the television serial Delhi Kay Bankay, which was also penned by him and he had a cameo role of ‘Dilbar’ as well.
The film hasn’t been making many headlines due to cast shuffles. Kaaf Kangana features Sami Khan, Eshal Fayyaz, and Ayesha Omar in prominent roles.
Khalil-ur-Rehman’s Directorial Debut Kaaf Kangana
Shooting for the film has concluded and the film has hit the post-production phase.
“Kaaf Kangana’s shooting has wrapped up and the film is currently in its post-production phase for which I will be heading to Bangkok. The film is an intense love story, and it has shaped up beautifully.”
Khalil-ur-Rehman is headed out of Karachi to Bankok for the post-production stage. The Kaaf Kangana team is already in negotiations with distributors. In fact, according to the Landa Bazaar writer, talks with distributors are in final stages.
“We are planning for an October release, and our negotiations with the distributor are currently in their final stages.”
Kaaf Kangana release date is being planned for October this year. The Mera Naam Yousuf Hai writer revealed that he does intend to make it a holiday release.
“I would want my film to release on a free day so it can get the number of screens and shows to do it justice. Therefore we have decided to go for a non-holiday regular release.”
Sami Khan on a Roll
Actor Sami Khan is really on a roll this year. The Ghar Ki Khatir actor has three films lined up for this year. In fact, his movie Gumm with Shamoon Abbasi was the first Pakistani release of 2019.
He’s also cast in the comedy sequel Wrong No. 2 opposite Neelum Munir.

Kaaf Kangana will be Sami Khan’s third release of 2019. Kaaf Kangana will also mark the film debut of actress Eshal Fayyaz.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s son, Aabi Khan, will also grace the silver screen for the first time in this movie. It will also mark Ayesha Omar’s first major cinematic venture since 2017’s Yalghaar.
