Kubra Khan (real name, Rabia Khan) is like that friendly neighbor next-door that we all know and love. The British-Pakistani actress wowed the audience the day she stepped into the industry.

Before taking up acting, she worked as a model. In 2013, she played the role of Hina in the Pakistani film Na Maloom Afraad.  In 2015, Kubra also appeared in a Bollywood movie Welcome 2 Karachi.

Her ongoing serial Alif alongside Ahsan Khan, Sajal Ali and Hamza Ali Abbasi is going viral all across the world. Apparently, this serial is becoming a turning point in everyone’s lives. Similarly Kubra, too has something to share with the world.

The Journey

Kubra claims that her role in the serial, Husn e Jahan is very close to her heart. She told that she fell in love with the character as soon as she got hold of the script.

She also mentioned that she did not need glycerin for the parts where she had to cry since the Husn-e-Jahan role came naturally to her.

I lived Husn-e-Jahaan. I didn’t act her.

In the drama her character is a female prostitute who dances but does not take pleasure with her actions. She told that her character fell in love with the character of Ahsan, Taha Abdul Alla, only because of his relation to his Lord. Taha coming into Husn e Jahan’s life was a turning point for her and brought her closer to Allah Tala.

I think I had this spiritual awakening where money and materialistic things and success and fame and all of that – of course, it’s part of our world – but I can’t take this anywhere with me. These awards aren’t going to hold any value in front of the “big guy” up there.

Kubra shares that for a girl who was raised in London, she always felt like she was a misfit.

On my death bed, I don’t want to be scared to face my Lord.
Maybe for a short period of time, I wanted my dramas to be better than others, but that’s a normal thing to feel. At the same though, I think when I took that back seat, I realised I’m not in competition with anyone.

At the end of the day, if I can look at myself in the mirror and be okay with what I am today, that’s the main thing. Because let’s face it, I could have 50 awards today, I could be the next big thing, but if I’m not like a good human being, what does all that stand for?

She was also asked about leaving the industry to which she replied that if she finds a balance between her life and career, then she’ll surely stay.

Here’s her whole interview which is worth watching:
