Turkish celebrities, especially those who starred in the historical television series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, have become very popular in Pakistan. So, it doesn’t come as a surprise that one Pakistani real estate brand Blue World City roped in Engin Altan to endorse their newest project.
However, it seems that anyone who has an opinion on the subject needs to beware. Reportedly, anyone found criticizing the project is being threatened with legal action. One wonders what goal will be served by such measures.
Engin Altan lends his likeness
The man of the hour, Engin himself, has shown a lot of love and appreciation for his fans in Pakistan. Engin Altan is now the brand ambassador for the real estate brand. And he took this moment to thank Pakistanis for bringing him this opportunity.
Naturally, the fans of the stars were happy to see him working for a Pakistani brand, but some of them were extremely displeased.
Good or bad, let’s take a look at all the reactions this news got on social media:

An easy way to make a shitty housing society famous is by signing Ertugrul star as your brand ambassador. pic.twitter.com/6Eiz3rSXNY

Legal Actions
Chaudhry Naeem Ejaz, the CEO of Blue Hills Country Farms, recently addressed detractors on social media. With threats of legal action no less.
According to Chaudhry Naeem, these negative comments are nothing but false accusations spreading to tarnish the image of Pakistan.
We are going to start legal proceedings.
One wonders what was even the need to do this. The public always has an opinion, both in favor and against brands hoping to capitalize on hot trends.
How could threatening people make the brand look? We certainly do think cooler heads are needed to portray a positive image of Pakistan.
Do you think Turkish actors, like Engin Altan, will work for Pakistan in the future if brands couldn’t fathom a little criticism? Let us know in the comments section.
