Actress Mahira Khan is receiving severe backlash for opting for an ill-fitted western outfit for the premiere of her latest film, The Legend of Maula Jatt. Netizens think her look doesn’t go with her character ‘Mukkho Jatti’ in the movie or the entire theme of the movie at all.
People think that she should have opted for a traditional ensemble for this Punjabi film, like her other cast members.
A special premier for Bilal Lashari’s magnum opus, The Legend of Maula Jatt took place in Lahore yesterday, attended by the cast (except Hamza Ali Abbasi), along with big names from the showbiz industry and the media fraternity.
All the stars looked incredible at the event full of glitz and glamour. However, Mahira Khan opted for a bright pink shimmery western outfit by Faraz Manan, that she had tailormade for the event.
She was seen swaying excitedly with a million-dollar smile at the premiere.
Although the Humsafar star looked jaw-dropping stunning in this body-hugging skirt and short-sleeveless top with a mesh jacket, the moral police didn’t approve of it and called it vulgar. They also passed ageist remarks about her.
Keyboard warriors also criticized her joyful dance and called it ‘cringey’.
