Social media influencers are a testament to how with new mediums there are new kinds of celebs. However, actress Mahira Khan is skeptical about the longevity of this fandom.

With social media fandoms, now people no longer need to go through strenuous auditions, casting couches, and whatnot. No more record deals or waiting on being scoped by scouts.

There’s a whole load of positives that came with digital media entertainment. But, Mahira Khan thinks this won’t last. In her appearance on Junaid Akram’s podcast with her Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad costar Fahad Mustaf, she voiced her opinions.

“You will see, I have this feeling, I don’t know if I should say it or not, I think that social media and social media stars will be a thing of past (in slightly lower tone)”

The topic came up amid a debate about films, dramas, social media, fans, and negativity by public. When the host asked the actors about instant public feedback, Mahira Khan voiced this opinion when talking about negative feedback.

“Public feedbacks are according to situation, for example, if I would be in front of them they won’t express hate in my face that’s true”.

When talking about instant feedback on social media feedback, she voiced how she thinks that social media stars will become a thing of past. Fahad Mustafa also added that these social media stars will phase out soon.

It’s interesting how Mahira Khan is busy promoting her upcoming movie Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad along with Fahad Mustafa. As part of their promotions, they were on Junaid Akram’s podcast, a YouTuber, and social media influencer. Given how younger audiences no longer watch television and just follow influencers.
