Education activist-turned-movie-producer, Malala Yousfzai, is visiting people who were affected by the monsoon floods in the Chhandan area of Juhi, district Dadu, Sindh.
Sindh’s Minister for Health, Dr. Azra Pechucho, Minister for Education, Syed Sardar Shah; and humanitarian and singer, Shehzad Roy, accompanied her under strict security measures.
The youngest Nobel Prize Laurate reached Pakistan yesterday with her family to help rehabilitate the affectees in the wake of the flash floods that devastated thousands of families in Sindh and other parts of the country.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah also lauded Malala Yousafzai’s visit and said that it would help to highlight the plight of the affectees all over the world.
The education minister also briefed Malala about local education and the schools that have been affected by this catastrophe.
He said, “About two million children studying in 12,000 schools have been affected by the floods”.
The executive producer of Joyland met female victims in the tent city of the affected area. She expressed her concern for their condition and encouraged them.

The Malala Fund had an emergency relief grant to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in September for the provision of psychosocial support to girls in Sindh and Balochistan.
It will also deliver emergency education services to ensure that girls can continue their education, and will repair and rehabilitate 10 damaged girls’ government school buildings.
