Man Calls Police, Challenges Manager to a Fight Over a Piece of Onion on Burger

Too much?

A 53 year man in Manchester city called the police over 999, all because McDonald’s had included a piece of onion on his Big Mac. The man told the operator that he got the ‘wrong meal’ from the fast food giant and was ‘allergic’ to onions.

That’s not the only bizzare thing that happened that day. Officers who dashed to the McDonald’s branch at Oxford Road discovered that Leslie McDonagh, the irate customer, had already challenged the branch manager to a fist fight. All this fuss over a piece of onion on his Big Mac meal.

The police, who were annoyed over the whole situation, asked Leslie to leave. This is where it gets more stranger.

Instead of complying, McDonagh first fell to the floor, and then grabbed the police officer’s leg as they tried to get him back up. The man repaid that courtesy by spitting on the officer’s face.

Leslie McDonagh, 53, called the police over getting the ‘wrong meal’ at McDonalds

The whole incident happened on December 21, 2018. Police inquiries revealed that McDonagh works at a finance firm. He was due to go home for his wedding anniversary that day, but stopped over at McDonald’s for a bite.

To complicate matters, McDonagh was found drunk during the time of his arrest, meaning that no one would buy his excuse of being allergic to onions. He was found guilty of assault by the magistrate court.

The man will now have to complete 12-months of community service plus 120 hours of unpaid work. He will also have to pay £190 (Rs 36,700).

Moral of the story? Don’t drink 6 cans of lager, on your wedding anniversary no less, and then complain of some piyaaz (onion) in your Big Mac. There’s better excuses out there than that.
