The individual found the finger inside his chicken burger at a restaurant in Kasur. We’re still trying to guess what was his first reaction to this. Was the rest of the burger even chicken or human meat?

It gets worse. This isn’t an isolated incident, which says a lot about food regulation in Punjab. While we may ensure food quality and standards in big cities, let’s not forget people live in the rest of Punjab too.
There have been recurring incidents of the use of prohibited meat in Punjab. Everything from horse and donkey meat was being sold or cooked and sold as ‘halal’ beef or mutton.
Authorities have carried out raids on local hotels and restaurants, and meat workshops. These raids resulted in the discovery of the usage of prohibited meat, but we see no end to this.
