Man Wants Divorce Because Wife Can Only Cook Maggi Noodles

In an interesting turn of events, a man is seeking a divorce from his wife over her cooking skills. Is this a case of a typical man offended by ‘khana khud garam krlo’ or is this more? Apparently, it’s because all she can cook is ‘Maggi noodles’.

According to reports, the case being dubbed the ‘Maagi case’ involved a man coming in with a divorce petition over food. The appellant shared how his wife only made instant ramen noodles for all three meals a day since they’ve been married.

The principal district and sessions court judge in Mysuru, ML Raghunath, shared the details of the case while recalling his time as district judge at Ballari.

An Indian judge of the chief district and session court was quoted as saying;

“It was noodles for breakfast, lunch and dinner. He complained that his wife went to the provision store and brought only instant noodles.”

While the conflict over a partner’s cooking ability may seem hilarious, this case highlights how women are expected to take on responsibilities such as cooking in a marriage. Regardless of their natural aptitude, they are expected to learn.
