Actress Mansha Pasha revealed that her husband has been abducted by unknown men at gunpoint on Thursday night in Karachi.
In a shocking turn of events, social activist, lawyer, and politician, Jibran Nasir was forcibly taken away by a group of armed individuals, when he and his wife were returning home from dinner.
According to Mansha, a white Toyota Hilux/Vigo intercepted and collided with their car from the front left side, forcing them to stop on 26th Street in Defence Phase 5, Karachi, while a silver Corolla blocked their car from behind.
Mansha Pasha took to social media to reveal the distressing incident, stating that her husband was “picked up by unidentified men” in Karachi late Thursday night. In a video message, Pasha described the incident that unfolded last night. Pasha said,
Approximately 15 men in plain clothes, armed with pistols, surrounded our vehicle and forcefully took Jibran.
In a formal complaint filed with the authorities, Pasha described the incident and requested immediate action for her husband’s swift release. She also called for the apprehension and legal action against those responsible for the alleged abduction.
Jibran Nasir, known for his activism and involvement in the 2018 general elections as an independent candidate from Karachi, has been vocal in his criticism of recent state crackdowns and legal processes related to political events and riots.
His work against sectarian violence earned him recognition by Foreign Policy Magazine in 2013, listing him as one of three Pakistanis doing inspirational work in this domain.
