When it comes to stirring the pot, Veena Malik and Mathira are practically pros. The two bold and unapologetic celebrities are making headlines again, this time for a rather spicy segment on Mathira’s talk show 21 MM.
What started as a seemingly harmless guessing game quickly turned into a viral controversy, with social media users calling the whole thing “vulgar” and demanding action from PEMRA.
Mathira blindfolded Veena and had her guess random objects based on descriptions. However, her descriptions of items like a flashlight, pen, and carrots were very suggestive, Let’s just say she worked very hard to make everything sound, well… phallic.
As expected, the internet had thoughts. Clips of the segment, shared by City 21 TV, spread like wildfire on Facebook and Twitter, and the backlash was swift. Many viewers were outraged, calling the content inappropriate for television and demanding PEMRA step in to ban the show.
One user wrote, “This kind of content might slide on social media, but airing it on TV? Absolutely not. It’s destroying our values and corrupting the younger generation.”
Another chimed in, “This isn’t entertainment—it’s embarrassing. PEMRA needs to shut this down ASAP.”
Some users didn’t hold back in criticizing Veena and Mathira directly. “This is who they really are—shameless and unapologetic. They don’t care about the impact this has on society,” one comment read. Ouch.
Others urged people to report the video, with one user saying, “It’s unfortunate to see celebrities wasting airtime on such vulgarity instead of meaningful discussions.”
So far, PEMRA hasn’t issued a statement, but given its history of cracking down on “indecent” content, it wouldn’t be surprising if the regulatory body decides to intervene. After all, this isn’t the first time a show has landed in hot water for pushing boundaries.
