During a post-match conference of the PSL 8 playoff thriller between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi, a reporter referred to Babar Azam as “former captain” to Shadab Khan after he was named as captain of the national side for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.

Shaddy corrected the reporter, reminding him Babar is still very much his skipper, and that he’s his “wazir”, taking charge in his absence.

Babar Azam and his Peshawar Zalmi are set to take on the hometown favorites Lahore Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, in the second eliminator. The winner of the match will face Multan Sultans in the final at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
