After a blockbuster re-release in India, Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Mawra Hocane and Harshvardhan Rane, the film is now making waves in cinemas across the United Kingdom. From London to Manchester, the 2016 Bollywood romantic drama will be screening across 21 cinemas in England.
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film’s second life has been nothing short of extraordinary. Initially underperforming at the box office during its 2016 release, Sanam Teri Kasam has now emerged as a surprise hit, with packed screenings and additional shows being scheduled to meet demand.
The love story, which marked Mawra Hocane’s Bollywood debut, has crossed borders to achieve a remarkable resurgence.
In India, the film raked in an impressive INR 30 to 32.5 million (approximately Rs96 to 104 million) on its fourth-day post-re-release, bringing its total earnings to INR 185 million (approximately Rs595 million). Now, it’s repeating that success in the UK, with theatres reporting sold-out shows and enthusiastic audiences.
For Mawra Hocane, the film’s resurgence couldn’t have come at a better time. The re-release coincided with her dreamy wedding with Ameer Gilani, making it a double celebration for her fans.
Adding to the film’s renewed popularity is its unforgettable soundtrack. Songs like “Tera Chehra,” “Sanam Teri Kasam,” and “Bewajah” are trending once again, climbing music charts and streaming platforms.
