While we don’t see the Verna director put out a film annually no one’s complaining as his movies blow up the box office whenever they come.

The filmmaker highlights social issues in all his cinematic works from his film debut Khuda Kay Liye to his recent movie Verna. No wonder Maya Ali is honored to star in the Bol director’s next movie.

“I feel lucky, I feel blessed! One day I get a call from Shoaib Mansoor and the next thing I know is that I am doing the role. The feeling is truly indescribable. After having worked with big names like Ahsan Rahim for my first film, and Asim Raza for my second film, I truly feel honored that now I get to work with Shoaib Mansoor in my third film. It’s a big deal for me!”

The Diyar-e-Dil actress kept details of her role in the film hush hush, only revealing that it is ‘a beautiful role unlike anything in her career before‘.

Maya Ali is optimistic about landing the lead role in ABG, despite Shoaib Mansoor’s last movie, Verna failing to make an impression on the box office as well as the critics.

“Shoaib Mansoor is an institution in himself. I just feel honored that I get to work with him as I know it will be a huge learning opportunity for me.”
