Meera Jee has been stranded in New York for weeks and now she has run out of resources. The actress updates her situation and says that she is only left with $300.
In a conversation with Samaa, Meera Jee shared her struggles of being stuck in the US amidst the Covid-19 outbreak. The Baaji actress said that she is finding it hard to survive with limited resources.
At this point, she can’t even return to Pakistan with her own money as the ticket costs around $3,000.
Earlier, she shared a video message in which she appealed to the Government to bring her back to the country. Her video attracted a new controversy as it was said that she is staying with her husband and have nothing to worry about. However, she later denied such rumors.
She can’t seem to understand this criticism.
“I am very sad over the fact that despite helping me with prayers or with money people are criticizing me in this difficult time.”
Upon being labeled as a ‘drama queen’ and ‘scandal queen’ by TV channels, she said that she will take legal action against them.
She went to the US for the filming of her movie Long Distance. But, the production has been halted due to the lockdown. She is afraid to stay there for long as her crew members have lost their lives.
“A Chinese cameraman of my crew, the producer of the film and her assistant have died after contracting the COVID-19.”
Sharing her fears she said,
“I want to come back to my country but I am also worried about the fact that what if I get some infection from the plane while traveling.”
