Meesha Shafi - Rajkumari

As we all celebrated International Women’s Day, Meesha Shafi gave us another femme anthem to vibe to, titled Rajkumari.

The Gal Sun celebrated the day with her fans by giving them a new track, titled ‘Rajkumari’. The single celebrates women for the queens that they are.

This single follows a storyline, starting with introducing a Rajkumari or queen. We then follow her rise to power as her crown shines brighter than the rest. The mix of English and Urdu lyrics has savage dialogues and a deeper message.

Art director, Hashim Ali maintained a beautiful balance between light and dark, seems to reflect how divine feminity is about claiming all your darkness and light.

For the music video, we see Meesha Shafi glammed up as the Queen of Hearts. Awais Gohar directed the music video featuring women from different walks of life. It really visually emphasized how we need to reassess ‘strength’ in order to realize how strong women are in their own way.

From pregnant women to differently-abled individuals, and transwomen. The single pays tribute to all marginalized members of society, women in all their various beautiful identities and roles.
