Film-maker Wajahat Rauf finally gave us a first look at his film Chhalawa. The director is known to keep his projects under wraps but his poster has raised so many questions.
The poster features Mehwish Hayat’s first look as lead character Zoya in a semi bridal-semi casual look. Those white sneaks though are making us wonder if this is another runaway bride film?

We already had Ballu Mahi and even the upcoming Heer Maan Ja is definitely a runaway bride tale.
Based on the short clip released on March 4th, we have high hopes for Chhalawa.

The film has a stellar cast with names like Mehwish Hayat and Mehmood Aslam. Then there was the set design that looked family event-esque or shadi-oriented (because lets face it, Punjabi family gatherings can get as big as a wedding).

Wajahat Rauf’s third film includes Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Mehmood Aslam, and Aashir Wajahat.
Chhalawa release date is set for Eid ul Fitr.
Wajahat’s previous two films were Karachi Se Lahore and Lahore Se Agay. These films are a good benchmark to judge the way Chhalawa will turn out to be. We’re expecting Chhalawa to be filled with laughs and a good lesson.
