Social media is buzzing following last evening’s memorable Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. From medieval knight armor suits to carrying around a plastic green baby, the 2021 event features our favorite celebrities from film, fashion arts and music industry wear outfits that are beyond fans’ imagination.
The Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art is the biggest event on the fashion fundraising calendar. Met Gala was founded by Eleanor Lambert back in 1948 to encourage donations from New York’s elite class society.
The most renowned artists from the fashion industry as well as Hollywood, international film, music, and art gather under one roof to raise money for the Met’s Costume Institute and celebrate the grand opening of its latest exhibition. It is the one time of the year when all our favorite celebrities get to express themselves through their outfits.
The outfits worn by celebrities this year were based on “irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality and exaggeration, just as the exhibition. And it did not disappoint as celebrities went above and beyond to come up with the most outlandish “dresses” to steal the spotlight.
Check out some of the outfits that we can’t make head or tails off!
