Recently in an interview, the Jalan star opened up about being bullied by fellow industry members when she was overweight by entertainment standards. While perfect, airbrushed images of celebs are what sets unrealistic beauty standards, these celebs go through a lot to live up to these standards.
When Minal Khan was overweight by industry’s norms she was regularly put down for it. Having started out young in the industry this didn’t do any good for her self-esteem. The Parchai actress talked about having to groom herself to become a mainstream celebrity.
How Was Giving Minal Khan This Advice?
As her popularity grew among audiences, the industry piled on the pressure over the Hassad actress to look a certain way. None of this feedback was coming from audiences themselves but rather directors, producers, and people in the biz.
Minal shared how it really affected her when people drew comparisons between her and her twin sister, Aiman Khan. She heard people saying that;
“Aiman is slimmer and a better actor, whereas the fat twin is Minal.”
When the Quddusi Sahab Ki Bewah starlet shared the gossip she overheard with her twin sister Aiman once, the Ishq Tamasha star encouraged her to lose weight. After losing weight it looks like Minal Khan isn’t being sidelined as much.
On the work front, Minal Khan is currently starring in Ishq Hai opposite Danish Taimoor. The drama serial follows a forced love troupe.
