Pakistani model Farwa Ali Kazmi took to her social media account on Instagram to share her heartfelt story about her miscarriage. The renowned model wishes to extend her support to couples going through the same ordeal and shed light on this sensitive issue.

2020 – A Year of Breaking Taboos

Last year, celebrities aimed to bring in awareness to various societal taboos, including miscarriage. Many famous celebrities such as Beyoncé, Chrissy Teigen and even the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, have shed light on ordeals of losing a child before birth. Recently, Farwa Ali Kazmi broke her silence over the issue by sharing a heartfelt post on her Instagram.

The model shared a picture of her ultrasound with a detailed caption. She wrote:

“While everyone looks back at this year and shares good memories, I am sharing my story that doesn’t have a happy ending.”

Farwa stated that people seldom talk about miscarriage because of the guilt, pain and shame attached to the experience.

“I feel we need to speak more about the uncomfortable and difficult topics because not talking about it makes it feel worse… It’s not the mother’s fault nor in her control.”

The model said that she came across a love letter she wrote for her baby that was never born. Farwa added that she “does not want to go into details of it but it’s unimaginable pain and loss for someone who hasn’t gone through it.”

Farwa Bravely Shares Her Experience

The model lost her baby after being seven months pregnant. She vividly described the ordeal as her worst nightmare. The model stated that she is still dealing with complications of her miscarriage.

A Message Of Hope

In the end, Farwa had a strong message for all the women who had to experience this painful loss.

“This year hasn’t given us many reasons to celebrate but we have survived despite all the hardships and that’s celebratory. I received love and care during these difficult times, that was unknown to me before,” Kazmi continued, stating, “It is because of my family and some of my friends (you know who you are) that I was able to process this trauma and can now talk about it openly. I am so so grateful for you all.”
